How to trigger a bulk edit from Shopify Flow

Let Flow decide when something should happen, and let the app decide what happens to the products.

The app is a Flow connector, so its actions appear alongside Shopify’s own when you build a workflow. The pattern that works best is to let Flow manage tags and let a task act on them.

Step by step

  1. Install both. Shopify Flow from the App Store, and Bulk Product Edit by MITS if it is not installed yet.
  2. Create a workflow. In Flow, start from a trigger such as an inventory quantity change or a product update.
  3. Add a condition. Narrow it — a threshold, a collection, a specific tag — so the workflow does not fire on everything.
  4. Add the action. Use Flow’s tag action to mark the product, or the app’s action where a direct edit is what you want.
  5. Build the matching task. In the app, create a task filtered on that tag — as a recurring schedule if the change should happen on a timetable.
  6. Watch both histories. Flow shows workflow runs; the app shows what each task changed. Check both after the first day.

Follow the steps in your own store — the free plan covers ten products per task.

Avoid loops

A workflow triggered by product updates, combined with a task that updates products, can trigger itself. Keep the workflow condition narrow and check the run history early.

Division of labour

Flow is good at noticing and at single-product actions; a bulk task is good at applying a rule to many products with a log and a revert. Keeping each to what it is good at is what keeps the automation debuggable.
